*GASP*

What?! Two posts in one week?

Took Becca shopping for her birthday and I was done trying on my pile of things before everyone else (apparently I'm a fast try-er on-er, rather then everyone else being slow.....humph) So I took an outfit photo in the mirror at the end of the hallway. Never tried to get a mirror shot without the camera in front of my face, it's not as easy as I assumed!

I tie dyed the shirt my self last summer at work, wasn't planning on wearing it again, but I actually really liked how it turned out! Hmm, it's blue, black and pink and looks better in person.....

Of course it rained because I wore my maxi skirt, but I also wore an umbrella scarf so there was no hope of it being dry! ;-)

Finally tried Buffalo Wild Wings and it was fabulous, we all got different sauces and shared, Beccas Parmesan garlic were the best!

With laughter and love,
KatySue

My Saturday.....

Went grocery shopping with my Mom, got a delicious iced white chocolate/creme de menthe coffee, and then my Mom went to work and the kids went to something at the library, so I had the WHOLE house to myself for almost two hours (I haven't had real alone time at home for a couple years, and no, driving back and forth to work sooooo does NOT count!)

What I wore.....

 What I watched.....

 What I bought-read-drooled over.....

Home Sweet Home

This weekend I was supposed to be down in Alabama with my sis, but my car decided to strand along the interstate, at night. I have never felt quite so alone or so VERY thankful for cell phones in my entire life!

Luckily I was within 50 miles of home so my parents could come and get me, instead of the middle of nowhere Alabama! Hopefully the third time is a charm with car fixes, and this will be the last time those poor mechanics have to see my car for awhile!

She Bangs, She Bangs.....

Anyone else remember William Hung?

Ahh, the good ol' days before American Idol lost it's spark! But that's another subject for another post..... Anywhoodle, this guy pops into my head whenever bangs are mentioned!

Onto a much more pleasant form of bangs, what girl hasn't looked upon Zooeys quirky style and fantastic hair with out a twinges of jealously? I know I'm guilty!
 *le*sigh*

I'd see picture after picture of her hair on Pinterest and try to talk myself into cutting my bangs like hers, but would always chicken out for one reason or another!

But as summer approached and my bangs began to look like this....

.....more and more. I decided to take the plunge and see if hipster bangs wouldn't work better then my current light fringe.

Long story short, I found the video below, screwed up my courage, took the plunge and couldn't be happier with the results!

I can put my hair up without looking like a peeled onion.....
(Yes, that's all bangs and I did my point a little farther forward then the girl in the video, I just have a massive amount of hair! So if you try it for yourself, you most likely won't get bangs this thick!)

.....and they blend much better into my hair when it down! =)

Next up on the hair department, my older sister is coming in early June and we are going to attempt to henna our hair! I'm crossing my fingers the color doesn't come out orange, unlike every other time I've tried dying my hair!

Has anyone out there tried henna, have any thoughts or tips? ;-)

Have you tried anything new with your hair recently? I'd love to hear about it!

Get Your Shine On.....

Work has simmered back down to 40 hours a week instead of the 50-75 hour weeks, with a few 32 hour shifts (yes, you read that right, I was at work with out going home for that long!) tossed in there just to make it more interesting and so I have now have the time (and honestly the inclination/brain function!) to blog again, yeah!

Shopping with the siblings for Moms b-day and Mothers Day!
I got the new caramel ribbon crunch frap from Starbucks and let me tell you, that sucker is amazing! You can hardly taste the coffee at all for all you Strabucks lovers/coffee haters out there! ;-)

My outfit for last Sunday featuring my new peacock skirt and my very first black shirt. Yep, you heard correctly, I've never owned a black shirt before as I was kind of prejudiced against the color as a whole.....but I've slowly been getting over it!
Shirt and Cami: JCPenny, Skirt: eBay, Shoes: Target

My hair was in two french braids with the ends bunned in the back with one of those giant octopus clip things (I know, I know, the technical terms I use!) I pulled out some tendrils and got them damp so they would air dry curly and I apologize for the wonky bangs, the humidity is currently winning that battle.....*sigh*
Earrings: Gift from my sista, Megan!

Arm party!
Bracelets and Watch: JCPenny and stolen from my little sisters.....

Today's outfit.....I know, I know, same day outfit on the blog, no applause necessary!!

No feet.....
Shirt and Cami: JCPenny, Skirt: Wal-Mart

.....here they are! No shoes, what a surprise!!!

I was always torn between wearing a watch or a bracelet,  it seemed like to much to wear something on both wrists.....but then I saw a Fossil ad with a watch and bracelets on the same wrist and my world was changed!
Watch: Gift, Bracelets: ??????

I love the new color whisper line form Maybelline, Cherry on Top is the name of the color and it's exactly the summery pink I was looking for!
 Earrings: Shop-Ko, Necklace: Hobby Lobby

Don't Stop Believin'

Totally stealing this idea from Kelli over here at: Nothing Less Than Bread!

~I believe in sweet iced tea, specifically at this moment maple cream sweet iced tea, yum!

~I believe that one day I will get used to it being 80 and humid in April, but that day is not today!

~I believe in books and their ability to make me the best arm chair traveler there is!

~I believe in feather earrings and owls, oh yes I do!

(Shirt and Cami: JCP, Shorts: Venizia brand via Goodwill, Earrings: Wal-Mart)

~I believe in nail polish!

~By golly.....I do believe my fingers are crooked.....

~I believe in cranking the music up LOUD as I drive to and from work on almost empty freeways!

~I believe that my Lord and Savior has blessed me beyond measure with my family and the life He has seen fit to give me!

~I believe in arm parties!

~I believe in naps, but feel so guilty afterwards, I hardly ever take them!

~I believe that The Host was a pretty fantastic movie...and gosh darn it if it didn't make me cry even though I knew what was coming! If you like chick flicks this one is a must see!

~Though I do believe the book was better....but if you know me, that will hardly be a surprising thought!

.....and last but not least I believe that my jump shots need some serious work! ;-)

Welcome Spring!

Happy first day of spring everyone! I've heard tell that's it's snowy and below freezing in some other parts of these United States, but right here in my corner of  Tennessee it's a practically balmy 55 right now!

So, I think I'll stop sighing over my weather and just enjoy the glorious day I've been blessed with.....yes, I am rolling my eyes at myself while I'm typing that! ;-)

I know, I know, the lighting is wonky, blame the time of day and my slowly breaking camera!

I was soooo dizzy at this point,
does anyone else find it notoriously
difficult to get good spinning shots?

Sweater: JCPenny, Skirt: Made by me, Brown Flats: Target

Jewelry: Made by me

I'll leave you with this.....

.....and the assurance that THIS BLOG in not exaggerating about the amazingness of this salted pretzel chocolate caramel bark.....

Does anyone else love circle skirts??

What was the weather like for you on the first day of spring?

I'm baaaaaaaaack!

Through a few comments on my blog asking where I was, I realized that I haven't posted it over a month.....maybe almost two months.....what can I say? I was getting depressed about no job and various other whinny complaints, such as a tree almost falling on our house and water suddenly pouring out of the light fixture in my little brothers room and I just didn't feel like blogging!

The tree got taken care of and we (and by we I mean what seems like every single plumber, drywaller, disaster clean up guy in the surrounding area) are still in the middle of cleaning up that mess! So, I fear until the parade of handy men stops walking through my picture taking area, outfit pictures will be rather non existent!

Ready for some good news? I got a job and what a job! I'm a night nanny and if you, like me, have no idea what that is when I read the ad for the job, you get paid to sleep near the kids in case they wake up, yep, you heard that right, I have a 40 hour a week job sleeping! Yes, they are three restless kids who all wake up at least once a night, but still, pretty cool right? Oh, and they travel a lot and always take at least 2 nannies with them, so cruises, and Disney World all might be in my future! =)

Now that I have a job I've started eyeing a few pieces I've spotted in my internet travels!

~Spring Wish List~

~This PURSE from Fossil

This DRESS (Which I just noticed is on sale....score!)

THESE I love my current ones, but the screws are constantly coming loose and they keep bowing out so they are too wide for my already wide head! I will most likely never get these and even if I do, I will most likely once again come to the decision I don't like dark frames, but a girl can dream, can't she? Oh, and they have free at home try on, so no commitment needed!
(My Mom's eye is starting to twitch right now)

.....or Girl on Fire.....

.....or maybe even Misty Journeys, luckily she sells samples, so I can try them all before committing to a full sized one!

I found my favorite Cherry Rose tea on Etsy!

THIS sweater.....

.....and THIS one

This SKIRT.....

.....and THIS one!

And THESE in every color!

Happy New Year!

GlitterFly.com - Customize and Share your images
Hehe, fantastically cheesy, right? I love it! =)

New years has has always been such a sparkly holiday to me. The party clothes, the drinks, the bubbly happy feeling you get staying up until midnight playing games, eating rich tasty food, the feeling of new beginnings and nostalgia (okay let it be duly noted I spelled nostalgia right the first try, booya!)

Even though I have yet to go to a sequined covered, confetti throwing party, it's definitely on my bucket list.....as is kissing someone at midnight, cheesy and over done as that idea is, it's still something that makes me sigh with jealousy every time I see it in movies!

These two are so adorable together and this song is fantastic. One of my favorite holiday songs and this is definitely my favorite version!

I will be ringing in the new year in classic Pillsbury clan style by eating Chinese take out (obviously, we are trying a new place, crossing my fingers that its good!) and playing games until midnight, when we will let the neighbors know just what they are getting into with us as neighbors by banging pots and pans and yelling HAPPY NEW YEAR at the top of our lungs!

Shirt: Kohls, Skirt: made by me

Had to honor this sparkly holiday with sequins somewhere in the outfit!
Scarf: Santa, Earrings: Dress Barn

More on new years and resolutions and such in the next couple days, as I stick my toe into the world of vlogging! =)
