Life Lately and a Photo Challange

As you may have noticed my posting has been a bit hit and miss lately! Life has been crazy between moving , finding a job, getting new bills to support said job, loosing job, finding another job and now adjusting to having a job that has me out of the house for a total of 10-11 hours a day, there is almost 2 hours of drive time in there, so you could say I've been  a wee bit preoccupied and to top it all off I get to wear something akin to this 5 days a week.....
.....except my shirt is about 2 sizes to big, and covers my butt while reaching my elbows.....and apparently if I post pictures of myself wearing said uniform on the internet there will be pain and banishment involved.....though why they would think anyone would want to post pictures of themselves in this particular get up I'm not sure.....

Ahem, anyhoodle, enough complaining, I really am getting used to it and it's almost nice not to have to think about what to wear in the morning!

Hey, I just realized, I never told you guys, I got a job in a preschool!! I'm a floater for now, someone who covers breaks and basically just steps in wherever they are needed, but there are lots of assistant teacher positions opening up, so fingers crossed! I really enjoyed my first two weeks and while last week was all you can imagine a week with 20+ 3 years olds in a room meant for 14 could be, this week the class sizes should be normal again!

Saw this on Pinterest, to be honest it was the cherries that caught my eye, and decided to give it a go!  Hopefully it will inspire me to get back on a regular blogging schedule!

See you tomorrow with a photo of my breathtakingly beautiful handwriting! ;-)

Let me know if you decide to join in on the fun!

Awkward and Awesome

That awkward moment when.....

.....cloths shopping and getting dressed are no longer as fun because polyester polos and black or khaki pants are what you have to wear 5 days out of 7..... =(

.....your glasses fog up as you are draining pasta for dinner and you can't see, so you slosh boiling hot water down your front.....

.....you reference movies/TV shows in normal conversation and NO ONE gets the references making you feel oh so OLD! Please tell me someone out there remembers Tool Time and Boy Meets World?

.....someone asks you, yet again, if you are Mormon because you look like you are straight out of Utah, and you can't quite figure out if this is a compliment or not.....

That awesome moment when.....

.....you not only buy tickets to see Beauty and the Beast the Broadway show when it comes to Nashville but the tickets are $140 cheaper then you thought they were going to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited, it's been a bucket list time ever since I knew there was a Broadway show and come September 25 this girl will be going all out, over priced souvenirs and all!!!

.....you find out there is a series on the Hallmark channel based on one of your favorite series of books, from a favorite author, staring one of your favorite actresses. Cedar Cove, Debbie Macomber and Andie McDowell respectively. Bonus nugget of info, you can watch it all the episodes on the Hallmark website! Because let's face it, how often will I be able to watch TV at 7 on a Saturday night? =)

.....there is warm blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream waiting for you when you are done typing this sentence, 'scuse me for a moment or 5.....nom nom nom.....

.....you discover that you have the early shift all this week which means while you have to go in earlier (which I'd rather do any way) you also get to leave at 4:45! =)

Misery Loves Company~Review

(Free copy of the book provided to me for review)

Let me start out by saying that the fact this book was about a woman who reviews books on her blog and get kidnapped because of it kind of freaked me out a little bit! =)

I was also wary going in because it sounded like it was going to be along the lines of The Shack, and while I liked that particular book (REVIEW HERE) Christian suspense has never been my favorite genre.....so I went in this book planning on having to force myself to read it.....

Ahem, but let me raise the right hand of wrongness and say that I could barely put it down! Christian fiction and suspense can be married into a gripping, yet not to gory book that doesn't feel contrived or forced! It wasn't preachy and it kept me guessing, which were a few of my beefs with previous Christian suspense books I'd read.

All of the jumping around was a little hard to follow and the very beginning creeped me out and confused me a bit*, but other then that I thoroughly enjoyed the story and would recommend it to anyone enjoys suspense/mystery stories!

Official Summary~
Filled with grief since her husband's death, Jules Bellano rarely leaves the house. Venturing out to the grocery store, she bumps into her favorite author. Embarrassing herself is the last thing she remembers before waking up in a strange room with a splitting headache. Can she discover why her husband really died and survive her own ordeal?

*Spoilers............
The beginning was explained further on in the book and cleared up my nagging questions and clarified A LOT the why of what was going on!

Review: Bread and Wine

Thank to some help from the lovely KELLI, I signed up for some book reviewing sights and now get sent free books as long as I post a review here on my blog, cool huh? =)

My first book was, Bread and Wine: A Love Letter to Life Around the table, with Recipes, and might I say I loved every word! She has an amazing sense of humor and food description skills. She kept me laughing  crying and hungry throughout the entire book!

Summary:
A collection of stories and lessons learned from the authors life centering around her love of food and the way it brings us all together, in the good and bad times of life!

It has recipes after almost every chapter and I have to admit that's one of the reasons I picked this one to review, I won't really let myself buy anymore cooks books, but as this technically wasn't a cook book, so no rules broken there, right? ;-)

As the authors husband is gluten in intolerant , the recipes are almost all gluten free and there are even a few dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian friendly choices.

This books made me want to cook up a storm, then fling open my doors and invite everyone I know to come and enjoy a long evening of food, laughter and fun!

On the Road Again!

Yesterday I drove down to Alabama to pick up my sister and adorable niece for the week. Her hubby has to work a lot this week, because of the holiday, one of the down sides of being a chef, you work more on the holidays not less! ;-)

I was a little nervous about the trip never having driven that far, and all by myself! The trip went perfectly smooth, even through downtown Birmingham at lunch time (there was some white knuckling and the incoherent babbling that appears when I'm nervous!) but Clark and I made it just under 4 and half hours!

Megan and Shawn s lovely little home, they have a pond in there back yard, can you say jealous much? And plush white carpet, I love soft carpet!

After Shawn got home from work they showed me around the neighborhood!

I feel in love with this little house that was only a few doors down from Megan's!

A private boat ramp that's only a few blocks away, between that and the fried pickles they have at their local Sonic they might be seeing me A LOT this summer..... ;-)

How is your summer going?

Oh, and I'm so happy to see all of your little happy faces over in my followers section still, I was kind of worried about all of the hullballoo with google reader going away that I was going to wake up yesterday and find you all had disappeared in the night!

I'm so thankful for each and everyone of you, be on the look out for a giveaway in the next few days to celebrate the fact you're all still here! =)
