15x15~Day Nine

Hair has decided it doesn't want to be flippy and cute on both sides anymore.....it wants to curl and be straight at the same time and no mater how many times I tell it this is not acceptable, it goes against my express wishes anyway..... =P
Three of the 15 today......
Green shirt: JCPenny
Jeans shorts: Venezia via eBay
Brown flats (not pictured): Target

Earrings: Gabrielle Atelier (Ashley's sisters Esty store, which appears to be empty at the moment!)

Cherry scarf: eBay

~I saw an ad for this camera awhile back and immediately knew I needed to start saving my pennies to buy one! I love of small cameras, but I also love the photo quality of a DSLR. This camera seems to have both! I've played with one at Costco and while I will DEFINITELY be waiting until the price goes down, I'm pretty sure this will be my next camera purchase!
Hopefully the price drops soon as the battery door on my old camera is popping halfway open all the time now..... =(
Nikon-1-J1

~This so TOTALLY works and it has saved me time already while writing this post! =)

~Being called to pick up the wrong kid from school....I was very happy I didn't have to deal with a barfing kid, but I did feel bad for the poor little guy who was sick, now he had to wait even longer for his Mom!

~The bad mood I've been in all week, if you couldn't already tell from the complaining, whoa is me tone to my posts all week!

~Picture this.....getting a bunch of things from eBay all on the same day......they all fit wonderfully.....and you can't wear them!! All because you restricted yourself to just 15 pieces of clothing for another week, akkkk!!!! At least I have something to look forward too!

~AWESOME~

~Shhhh, don't tell Mister Realtor, but I'm kind of liking my room de-cluttered.....when I stumble around half awake in the morning I don't run into nearly as many thing now! ;-)

~After weeks and weeks of whining, finally getting a bubble tea! Yes, it might have been in place of Zumba (hey, the sound system was on the fritz and the girls and I did go for a long walk, we just happened to mosey by the tea store.....) Mmm, green tea base with coconut AND almond with tapioca pearls! YUM!

15x15~Day Six!

Yesterday was CrAzY! I bring the little boy I nanny to my house so I can help here at home (driving Becca to collage, packing more, things like that!) I get home and there is a refrigerator delivery truck in our driveway, our 28 year old fridge broke (shocker, right?) but not only would the old one not fit out through the kitchen, the new one wouldn't either! So, it takes twice as long as it should to deal with that!

The the real estate agent come in the middle of all this to walk around the house and tell us how our stuff is going to make it REALLY hard to sell our house and if we moved before we sold it he could get $10,000 more for it....gee, thanks mister, our stuff devalues the house by $10,000?!?!

He keeps asking about all of the furniture we've moved so the fridge guys can get through the house.....oh, no mister, we always have the rug wadded up like that in the middle of the floor, didn't you notice that last time you where here? =P

Oh and then I get a call at about 11, the older boy I nanny is sick and can I go and get him at school. I drive the 25 minutes to the school, hoping that he doesn't barf before we can get him to a toilet or sink and then I walk into the school office and it's a little boy I've never seen before siting there clutching his stomach....um, sorry that is not my Nathan...the secretary looked at me like I was crazy, but then believed me when another woman walked in and said that no, it was in fact not the Wrights Nathan! So, let me get this straight, I rushed over here, skipping lunch (after not eating breakfast) and it's not even my Nathan??? *sigh*

Ahem...rant over, sorry!

You know, the weather really should have let me know it was going to be cold before I picked out my 15 items!! =P
Three of the 15 being worn today!

15x15~Day Three + What's Cooking!

You know? This only having 15 items of clothing to pick from thing sure simplifies getting dressed in the morning. I normally spend at least 10 or 15 (sometimes maybe a wee bit longer.....) minutes staring into my closet trying to pick out what to wear, but today? I knew the two church-y type outfits I had to pick from so it was much quicker process then normal! =)

Wearing two of the 15 today!
Dress: Kohls
Boots: Naturalizer

Non 15 items: Belt, bracelet, earrings: ShopKo,
Necklace: Erm....a jewelry party at a friends house! There were three strands, but they crunched oddly when I turned my neck, so I took it apart, added clasps to the other two strands and gave them as Christmas presents..... ;-)

I hate taking detail pictures...how do those girls in the catalogs look natural while doing poses like this?
*Who me? I always smile broadly while tucking my hair behind my ears, while looking off into the middle distance.....*

~I have to say, after the busy weekend I've had, Monday is looking pretty darn good right now! I made a double batch of whoopie pies (recipe to follow!) for church and in between switching pans in and out of the oven and reloading them with dough, I packed 6 boxes of books, all of the stuff under my bed (I store my off season clothes and costumes, sheets, blankets, snow boots ect ect ect) and two big boxes of linens and other things of that nature.

Then today, we had a full nursery at church and a few things we had to clean up from that happened after church. I came home and helped pack up and clean up the tins from the cupboard tops in the kitchen and then packed four more boxes of books and movies from my room.

Then my Mom, a family friend and I packed all of these boxes into our car and drove them over to another friends house, who is letting us store all of our "clutter" (the real estate agent wants us to de-clutter and stage our house, while we are still living here. Basically make it look like there are only 3 people living in a house that has 7 living there.....easy peasy, right?) in her garage! *sigh* Needless to say, I'm pooped!

I am now in my jammies and I only have to feed the kids and do the dishes, after that I'm free to eat my very nutritious dinner of Marshmallow Mateys (No judging, it's the weekend, I can eat bad for one day of the week, can't I?) and zone out in front of something of a  light and fluffy nature on my computer!

Chocolate Whoopies with Espresso Butter-cream Filling

Whoopie Pies
Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 cup canned pumpkin (not the pie filling kind, just plain!)
1/3 cup butter softened
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk

Preheat oven to 375. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Beat butter and pumpkin together until smooth, add cake mix, eggs and milk. Beat on slow until just combined, then beat on medium for one minute. Drop batter by rounded tablespoon fulls onto lined baking sheets. Bake for 15 minutes or until set and lightly browned around edges. Slide parchment paper off of the baking pan immediately, let cakes cool for a few minutes then loosen with a spatula.

Espresso Buttercream

2 sticks of salted butter, room temp
4 ounces full fat cream cheese, room temp
2 ½ - 3 cups of confectioners sugar, sifted
1 packet of one Starbuck Via (any instant coffee will do)
2 TB all purpose flour (optional)

Make the espresso buttercream:
In a large bowl with an electric mixer beat the butter cream cheese until creamy. Add flour, VIA and the sifted confectioners sugar, beat until well combined.

I make the filling while the last pan of cakes is in the oven and fill them after they get out, starting with coolest ones. Drop a rounded tablespoon of filing onto one half of the pie and top with the other half! Enjoy!

15x15~Day Two

The observant among will notice I've swapped out yet another item. I've swapped my black flats for some boots as the weather has changed form sunny with temps in the mid to high 70's, to rainy (with possible frozen mix on Tuesday) with temps in the high 50s.....so boots instead of flats it is! =)

Wearing three of my 15 items today:
Blue shirt: Kohls
Yellow skirt (swapped for Paris print): Made by me
Boots (swapped for black flats): Naturalizer

Earrings:Made by me
.....I bought  a pair of flip flops that had a bigillion of these little butterflies on them but after a few times of wearing them and getting them caught on everything I took them off and made  a pair of earrings....now just a few million more of the little buggers to get rid of.....anybody want some earrings? ;-)

~My change bucket was full, so I cashed it in and snagged some of the items off of my favorites list on Etsy!

~ Two kinds of lip stuff from Epically Epic Soap. I've loved everything I've bought from her, so go and check out her shop, you won't be disappointed! It's the smoothest chap stick I've ever tried and feels wonderful on your lips, the flavors are to die for yummy without being over powering. Her lip-tints are great as well, they provide just a hint of color and sparkle!

~This bracelet from Simple KISSes. I followed a link on eBay and fell in love with this bracelet, it seriously goes with 90% of my summer wardrobe! I love it! =)

~ And last but definitely not least, Posh Patina solidifies herself as my very favorite jewelry designer with her new line of gorgeous earrings! The name alone had me hooked, Roman Holiday.....don't they just look like something you would wear to explore Rome.....in a simple white sundress.....tan sandals.....with a beat up leather messenger bag.....riding a light aqua vespa.....you'd spend all day taking pictures.....getting a glowing brown tan.....or maybe that's just me! ;-)

.....one more thing. I have to thank Tory from A Splash of Red for leaving the best comment ever! She said my hair looked vintage, and I am now praying for God to bless her.....and her children.....and her childrens children.....etc etc etc.....thanks for the compliment Tory, it pretty much made my year!! ;-)

15x15~Day One

Welcome to day one of the.....

.....the updates on my last post? I'm not alone in thinking cami's don't count (yeah!) and I admitted my hatred of deadlines to myself and chose to swap out the patterned skirt knowing that I would put off fixing it and only have three bottoms for the challenge! Then I chickened out and swapped the heels for a pair of flats almost the same color..... I want to wear heels for everyday wear, but can't imagine chasing kids around in heels! =P

I'm wearing three of my 15 items today. The striped shirt from Kohls, the shorts from Goodwill and the brown flats from Target.

Bracelet: Shop-Ko, Earrings: Hallmark, Necklace: Fred Meyer (Owl added by me)

~Pinterest has been acting funny, but I've still managed to pin a few things even with the site being jerky! =P
