I'm baaaaaaaaack!

Through a few comments on my blog asking where I was, I realized that I haven't posted it over a month.....maybe almost two months.....what can I say? I was getting depressed about no job and various other whinny complaints, such as a tree almost falling on our house and water suddenly pouring out of the light fixture in my little brothers room and I just didn't feel like blogging!

The tree got taken care of and we (and by we I mean what seems like every single plumber, drywaller, disaster clean up guy in the surrounding area) are still in the middle of cleaning up that mess! So, I fear until the parade of handy men stops walking through my picture taking area, outfit pictures will be rather non existent!

Ready for some good news? I got a job and what a job! I'm a night nanny and if you, like me, have no idea what that is when I read the ad for the job, you get paid to sleep near the kids in case they wake up, yep, you heard that right, I have a 40 hour a week job sleeping! Yes, they are three restless kids who all wake up at least once a night, but still, pretty cool right? Oh, and they travel a lot and always take at least 2 nannies with them, so cruises, and Disney World all might be in my future! =)

Now that I have a job I've started eyeing a few pieces I've spotted in my internet travels!

~Spring Wish List~

~This PURSE from Fossil

This DRESS (Which I just noticed is on sale....score!)

THESE I love my current ones, but the screws are constantly coming loose and they keep bowing out so they are too wide for my already wide head! I will most likely never get these and even if I do, I will most likely once again come to the decision I don't like dark frames, but a girl can dream, can't she? Oh, and they have free at home try on, so no commitment needed!
(My Mom's eye is starting to twitch right now)

.....or Girl on Fire.....

.....or maybe even Misty Journeys, luckily she sells samples, so I can try them all before committing to a full sized one!

I found my favorite Cherry Rose tea on Etsy!

THIS sweater.....

.....and THIS one

This SKIRT.....

.....and THIS one!

And THESE in every color!

Awkward and Awesome

~AWKWARD~

~Reaching the middle of a flight of stairs and your body suddenly decides it would much rather slide down the rest of the way.....a few bewildering seconds later, you yell you're fine, but that doesn't stop everyone in the house from making a mad dash to see if the herd of elephants you'd been keeping upstairs  had made it down okay.....

~No visible evidence of said amazing stair slide! You discover bruises all the time of unknown origins, but just wait until you want one to prove how very much your back and arm hurt and noooooo, the bruises decide to take a holiday and never show! =P

~Still no job and as much as I would like (and NEED) a job, the idea of working at a  truck stop or Lowes just isn't floatn' my boat......and plus the first place you applied and never heard back from, has placed 3 more ads in the paper and Craigslist since you applied, so obviously they can't find anyone and you don't even warrant an interview.....*burn*

~I have five words for you.....flimsy.....plastic.....toilet.....seat.....lids, I mean who thought of those? Do these people not sit on the potty (lid closed of course) to do very important things like put tights on and paint their toenails?   I am truly baffled!

~AWESOME~

~Panera Breads Thai Chopped Chicken salad is heaven in a bowl.....gosh just typing it makes me hungry..........they're open at 10:30pm right? Hmm, maybe? Wait, gotta factor in travel time, I guess by the time I get there it will be 11pm, so I may just have to wait.....

~My amazing Mom noticed my old jewelry hanger finally gave up the ghost during the move (and now my jewelry is sitting in an absolute mess on top of my dresser) so she bought me this one.....
Can't wait until it gets here!

~Bunheads is BACK!! I was looking for our good ol' Stars Hollow friends and there he was, T.J( Lukes sisters husband) as a two bit magician. I wonder if they're going to bring Luke to Paradise....now that would be fantastic! =)

~Can I haz dis, puh-lezz????

Starbucks Tuesday!

Linking up with Kelli today for Starbucks Tuesday!

I know, I know, the drink I am holding is obviously not from Starbucks or even a coffee shop at all. But the drink mix was found at a coffee shop and it is seriously the BEST hot chocolate EVER!

My family will attest to my overly picky and lofty dreams of finding the perfect, not to sweet, spicy, smooth , not to thick and not to thin full of chocolaty flavor, hot chocolate, and my friends we have found it!!!!

It's a Mayan inspired blend, so has cinnamon, vanilla and almond flavor in there along with the chocolate and mixes up smooth, I hate drinking grainy bits! It's also pretty reasonably priced, definitely cheaper then going to a coffee shop every day.....
.....Yes, I may be having a cup every day.....
.....Hey, it's only 8oz.....
.....Of course I have to top it with fresh whipped cream and a sprinkle of roasted cinnamon.....
.....Mmmmmm!

Here's a link to there website, be forewarned they kind of only sell huge containers of things!

Here is where we bought it (after we devoured the small container my Mom got for Christmas!) It was  a little cheaper and we got free shipping!

Blog Party!

Today was my day in a budding author blog party, go and check it out over at  Miss Jack Lewis Baillot's blog, However Improbable.

Here are links to other posts I've done on my various writing projects. So grab a cup of tea, or your other warm comforting beverage of choice, and hang around for awhile, don't forget to let me know what you think! =)

Happy New Year!

GlitterFly.com - Customize and Share your images
Hehe, fantastically cheesy, right? I love it! =)

New years has has always been such a sparkly holiday to me. The party clothes, the drinks, the bubbly happy feeling you get staying up until midnight playing games, eating rich tasty food, the feeling of new beginnings and nostalgia (okay let it be duly noted I spelled nostalgia right the first try, booya!)

Even though I have yet to go to a sequined covered, confetti throwing party, it's definitely on my bucket list.....as is kissing someone at midnight, cheesy and over done as that idea is, it's still something that makes me sigh with jealousy every time I see it in movies!

These two are so adorable together and this song is fantastic. One of my favorite holiday songs and this is definitely my favorite version!

I will be ringing in the new year in classic Pillsbury clan style by eating Chinese take out (obviously, we are trying a new place, crossing my fingers that its good!) and playing games until midnight, when we will let the neighbors know just what they are getting into with us as neighbors by banging pots and pans and yelling HAPPY NEW YEAR at the top of our lungs!

Shirt: Kohls, Skirt: made by me

Had to honor this sparkly holiday with sequins somewhere in the outfit!
Scarf: Santa, Earrings: Dress Barn

More on new years and resolutions and such in the next couple days, as I stick my toe into the world of vlogging! =)

Merry Belated Christmas and What I Wore!

Merry belated Christmas!

I may have waited until the 23rd to wrap my presents, but I didn't use one bag this year and I'm kinda sorta may be known as the bag queen..... ;-)

I may have chosen to decorate my gingerbread man with the maximum amount of frosting coverage in mind.....he turned out rather well I thought.....and was pretty tasty!

.....and I may be lame at remembering to take pictures, so that's it for my camera! My dad took lots, but his memory card doesn't fit in my computer and I am too lazy to retrieve them in a more complicated fashion!

~What I Wore~

We went into Franklin this afternoon to spend our Barnes and Noble gift cards that Santa gave us and may have stopped at McDonalds for these.....I know, I know, I've received and watched the links hating on them, and yes, I'm still choosing to eat them!

I got the next two books in William Joyce's Guardians of Childhood series. I love all of his books and highly recommend them! And the Rise of the Guardians movie was pretty fantastic as well, North has got to be my favorite version of Santa ever!

.....and we may have stopped by one more place on the way home.....
I love Buckhead, but I also still miss my good ol' Starbucks! Mmm, Iced caramel macchiato!

Now onto what I wore for this adventure!
Cardigan: JCPenney, Dress: Kohls, Boots: Naturalizer

Belt: Christmas gift

Necklace: Santa!

Osage Oranges

When we first got here we found one of these in our gutter. We discussed at length as to what this strange wrinkly, incredibly hard (I stomped on one and it didn't break!) thing could be. We then saw more at a local park we were exploring,  but couldn't figure out if they came from a tree or bush. We did decide if it was a tree, we did not want to be walking underneath said tree when these suckers are falling off!

We did find one some very determined person manged to smash open and it looks like this.....
and smells like watermelon and cucumbers.

Then on one of the blogs I follow I noticed she had a bowl of them on her coffee table and had what they were written underneath the picture. Some internet searching later, I discovered that placed under your bed they supposedly kept spiders and other bugs at bay! The wood is also good for masts and fence posts as it is almost impervious to rot.

We went back to the park and went on an Osage Orange hunt!

After searching for a few minutes and only finding a few rotten looking ones, we were about to give up when we came upon the mother load!

The plants are also used for natural barbed wire as the smaller branches have rather long sharp thorns!

I can't wait to see this place in the summer, it's so pretty now, I can only imagine what it will all look like in the summer!

A bright green bug with a smiley face on it's back!

A pond with a cool looking water feature.

 The happy hunters!

Here's a link to a Wikipedia page on this strange plant!
