Home Sweet Home

This weekend I was supposed to be down in Alabama with my sis, but my car decided to strand along the interstate, at night. I have never felt quite so alone or so VERY thankful for cell phones in my entire life!

Luckily I was within 50 miles of home so my parents could come and get me, instead of the middle of nowhere Alabama! Hopefully the third time is a charm with car fixes, and this will be the last time those poor mechanics have to see my car for awhile!

The Weekender

Three good things I've found about having to wear a uniform for work.....

~I don't have to think in the morning about what to wear, an activity which takes a lot of time some mornings and I have an entire week to plan just two days!

~I don't feel sad when the kids get something on my clothes, heck, it's not just the kids, I wipe my hands on myself just as much! ;-)

~I feel the freedom to splurge on the nicer pieces because I only wear "normal" clothes two days week so don't need as many basics!

There, I've done the Pollyanna thing and it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be!

Now, onto the point of this point of this post, welcome to The Weekender!! In which I will chronicle my two days of fashion freedom!

Ahem, yes, for the astute among you, you will notice my hair is gone, no, it's not the cut I was hoping for, but there was some mis-communication between the stylist and I! I'm hoping it will grow out into what I want within the next few months!

My new favorite way to tie scarves, faux infinity style!

Stillhouse Hollow falls

My family took advantage of the fact that all of us had labor day off and went on a hike I'd read about in my internet wanderings!

On the way back, we skipped to trail and just hiked upstream, it was pretty awesome!

Doesn't this look like a tree star?

This was just off the path, a little way from the base of the waterfall, I love finding ruins like this!

Not exactly deep, the internet said this was one of the best swimming holes in the country.....hmm, for hobbits maybe! ;-)

I'm trying to decide if I want to slide across the mud on my hands and knees to get further behind the waterfall! I didn't by the way, I would like to keep the trend of no broken bones! =)

Look, water!!!

I Failed the Photo Challenge.....

.....or did I?
The goal wasn't necessarily to finish, but just to start blogging more, which I did, so while I failed at the specific challenge, I achieved my over all goal....at least that's what I'm telling myself, so I don't feel so bad about completely dropping the ball! =)

~Random Updates~

~Staff meetings are as fun as I always thought they'd be.....at least I got paid for the extra time!

~In spite of the staff meetings, (along with a few other annoyances.....) I really am enjoying my job!

~Clark (my car, in case you didn't know) scared me by attempting to die, but thanks to the mechanics and my amazing dad carpooling with me and my crazy ever changing work schedule, my the car is fixed and I always got to work!

~The fall bug has bit me hard, I've been doing back to school at work for 3 weeks now and I'm drinking pumpkin and caramel apple themed drinks from Buckhead. So I wish the temp would stop reaching into the 90's, accompanied by "air you can wear" as one weather man referred to the humidity!

~I'm thinking of doing this to my hair again.....
.....as I have to wear it up all the time, it just gets in the way when I work and I get headaches when I wear my hair up everyday.....any thoughts?

Day Twenty-One

~Summer Time~

As you already know I went to visit my sister this week end, I had a fantastic time and Megan and Buggy got to come back and stay with us the rest of us for the week! Here are some pics from a great summer weekend!
TinkerBell (my sisters cat) loves cereal milk, she stalked me until I let her drink some!

But Mom, I know I can fit two in there, see? ;-)

Found this lovely little confection at World Market, haven't had it since Bend and may have bought two bars..... hey, the whole family loved it, I would have been in trouble had I not brought any back!

Their yard is full of these tiny little frogs, I hate to think of stepping on them, but you don't really notice the unless they're moving!

Selfies in the Starbucks line!
Taken after an hour detour and before discovering all of the exits to the interstate I needed to get on were CLOSED and the crossing my fingers driving though downtown Birmingham!

Day Fifteen

~Green~
A little peek into our yard!

Just a heads up, you won't be seeing me for a few days as this lucky gal is spending the weekend down in Alabama with her sister! I was going to set up scheduled posts, but a surprise 2 hour visit to a walk in clinic to get a medical release for work filled out, I kind of ran out of time, it was blog or pack and I decided to pack!

I'll see all you lovely gals on Monday!
