Awkward and Awesome

~Three of my new favorite shows got canceled *sniff*sniff* (R.I.P, Pan Am, Terra Nova and A Gifted Man) It's also season finale time and that means I have to WAIT to find out what happens between Castle and Beckett.....how on earth did Sherlock fake his own death and last but not least.....did Grimm and Hawaii 5-0 really just end with the same wide eyed stare and a gasp of "Mom?" Yep, they totally did, weird.....

~The following picture was taken this morning.....no joke here peeps.....just half an inch of slushy rainy snow....in May..... Tennessee keeps looking better and better.....

~Does the summer movie season seem to be over run with R rated movies, or is it just me???

~The chocolate old fashioned doughnuts from Starbucks.....so amazingly tasty..... I may or may not get one every Thursday morning....hey, most Wednesday nights I've Zumba-ed my butt off.....I figure it all comes out even in the end.....or ON the end as it where..... ;-)

~For all you fellow Doctor fans.....this HAS to happen, or the world might end....just sayin'.....

~I can pretty much already say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, this movie holds my very favorite version of Santa Clause EVER!!!! 

Ovo Means "egg"' in Portuguese.....

.....well, wonder no longer! My family had the opportunity to go and see Ovo this past weekend, before they take the show to Australia! 

We packed up early Sunday morning (copious amounts of barf receptacles included, for those of us who get car sick.... travel is so fun with a house full of car sick pron people! Ginger pills have literally changed my life folks, try them for nausea and motion sickness, they really do work!) and headed to Portland. Drove through a half marathon, saw a giant metal elephant..... 

.....and dropped of crazy Becca at Powell's (as she didn't want to go to the show....hence the crazy bit) one of the worlds biggest used book stores and the rest of us headed here.....

.....our first surprise was that the show was actually in a  tent, we thought it was inside the Expo center, but nope! The amazingly talented folks at Cirque Du Soleil (Which I've been told means circus of the sun) have invented the Tardis tent, far bigger on the inside then it looks on the outside!

....and unless you Google the show that's all the pictures you're going to get, they start yelling at you about cameras as soon as you walk in the gates...oh well!

 Lack of pictures aside, it was an AMAZING experience and if you ever have a chance to go to a Cirque Du Soleil show, you should grab it and not look back! The costumes, music, the special effects, the set, everything was amazing and they 2 1/2 hours literally flew by (except for the half hour intermission, but I had brought along a book to take care of the boring bit!)

I love how colorful the buildings are, (though the people all seemed to be wearing black and brown....)

We went to the Old Spaghetti factory for dinner, I love it there! They have the neatest building and the food is really good! They have this special cheese,

.....made by little Italian grandmothers.....

.....can't get it anywhere else.....

 .....sheep's milk..... 

( I know, me eating sheep's milk, but I had already eaten it at this point, so I went with it!) and I'm not kidding you here people it tastes almost exactly like this.....

....which I love, since that kind of cheese was my favorite as a kid! I know those little Italian Grandmothers are shaking their fists at me and muttering about this dumb Americans unsophisticated pallet, but what can I say? It has a bit more depth of flavor, but for the most part a Kraft clone it is! ;-)

They have a small arcade upstairs, the silly crane machine ate my 50 cents!

Bonus outfit photo! My lovely Mom bought this skirt for me the day before, I'd put it back at JcPenny as it was out of budget, but she went back and picked it up for me! Not the best choice to wear to a city where it rains most of the time.....the hem was a wee bit filthy by the end of the day! I love how it moves and being from the petite section, the hem is just touching the ground instead of being 4-5 inches to long!

I was so sad, this little guy was SUPPOSED to be here in time for the trip, but he came the day after, so he didn't get to come with us. There is always next time though!

Fiendish Squirrel

Picture this.....a nice friendly squirrel that lets me pet him (he was sooo soft!)..... 

 .....turns into a Mom chasing, screen door climbing/shaking, house infiltrating, cat scaring fiend by the afternoon. My Mom calls animal control.....wait we don't have animal control in Bend.....the cops tell us to trap it, but not hurt it. 

Then a man from our church comes and tries to shoot it with a pellet gun, no luck there either! I came home from work and the squirrel is up in a tree and then vanishes.

After dinner the fiendish squirrel is back, chasing Mom and little bro inside the house, I throw on my shoes (of course I'm in my PJ's at this point, not exactly evil squirrel chasing clothes I know, but whatever.....) and am stalking the little guy around the front yard with a five gallon bucket.....

.....Wait, now what do I do with it? 

......squirrels fate is pending at the moment.....check back later for full status report!

Photo Challenge~Days 15 and 16

As I was sitting in my car contemplating yesterday's photo challenge (yes, I actually remembered......I just didn't get a chance to post until today!) I was trying to figure out how to take a faceless self portrait when I looked down and saw this.....I'm pretty sure most people who know me would agree this defined me pretty well!

Fist off, it was taken in the car, I spend a lot of time in the car and though I started out hating driving, I now love it!.....Super tasty iced Oregon Chai (a splash of amaretto creamer made it the best I've ever made!).....My favorite purse EVER, it's coral, embroidered and big enough for most anything I'll need to carry around and has a slightly hippie flair.....My very favoritest retelling of my very favoritest faerie tale.....and last but not least cherry flip-flops! And if you've hung around this blog for any length of time you know that I am slightly obsessed with cherries and flip-flops! =)

I found It's A Date through the One skirt, three days fashion event and immediately started following her. Her quirky optimism, wonderful outfits and amazing hair all combine to make for an enjoyable look into the life of a lovely young lady.

What's Cookin'?

Welcome to the first installment of What's Cookin'! A (hopefully) regular feature on this blog where I will show you tasty and super easy recipes, hopefully you'll get some good recipes and maybe I will finally learn how to spell the word recipes.....nope, spelled it wrong all three times! *sigh*

Salsa Chicken

3 thawed boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 1/2 cups of your favorite salsa

1 package sliced Munster cheese (you really just need one piece of cheese for each piece of chicken!)

4 TB melted butter

3/4 cup bread crumbs

1: Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

2: Cut chicken breasts in half and place in un-greased glass baking dish

3: Pour salsa evenly over chicken

4: Place cheese on top of salsa covered chicken (except for the piece you eat of course.....)

Make sure to remove any paper from between slices, I left one  on the first time I made it, luckily I got that piece of chicken!

 5: Mix bread crumbs and melted butter, sprinkle over chicken.

6: Place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.....

Totally optional activities to accomplish while you wait for chicken to cook.....

 Had it since Sunday and still no chips!!!

.....Read a rather snarky fashion book (lot's of language just to warn you!) while eating a double stuffed Oreo, because you have just fought with a shall remain nameless *coughporactivecough* company over an over due bill when they are the ones that owe you money and this girl needed some chocolate!

....Make salad, set table, heat up some tortillas and before you know it.....

Ta Da!! Crunchy, cheesy, salsa covered goodness! I like to wrap my piece up in a tortilla, with lots of extra salsa and cheese form the bottom of the pan. But, most of the family just eats it straight. However you eat it. it's super good and super easy!

Photo Challenge ~Day Ten!

In going through a mental list of my bad habits, I seem to have mostly un-photograph-able ones.....procrastination.....forgetting to do something I was told to do while I was doing something else.....I chew on my lip when I'm nervous, especially out in public.....I fiddle with my jewelry.....I use to tug on the ends of my braids, but cutting all your hair off tends to help with that one.....I am an obsessive worrier, especially about what others think of me.....I tend to either not talk at all or ramble on and on and on and on etc etc etc, when nervous out in public (you can't shut me up at home!).....ahh, I know one!

~Bad Habit~

.....I have a bad tendency to put off, putting the sheets back on my bed, which is a weekly happening here at the Pillsbury house, gotta love clean sheets! So, even though I get them back well before bedtime, I'm usually putting them back on as I'm ready to climb into bed! =P

And I didn't forget about yesterday, I just could NOT think of anything, so I took the day off! =)
