Day 30~A Motto or Philosophy

Day 29~ Hopes, dreams and plans you have for the next 365 days

*Sigh* I know what I want to happen in the next 365 days, but whether God has the same plans is yet to be seen! So, I'll post a hope, a dream and a plan for the next 365 days and see what happens!=)

~A Hope~

First and foremost, I want to get married. I guess I should go on a date first, huh? ;)

~A Dream~

To become a published author!

~A Plan~

To live the life God has planned for me with a joyful heart, even if His plan doesn't align with mine!

Day 28~A scar you Have and it's Story

This scar is from tripping and falling against the dog gate we have in front of our screen door. How it happened is not funny but what happened later is.

I had been trying to keep a band aid on it, but it kept falling off and I got tired of putting new ones on. So, I just left it off. I was talking to the dad of some kids I babysit when he looked down and noticed the scabby gash on my arm, he stopped talking shuddered and whispered, "Do you need to go see someone about that?"
I said, "No, it happened a few days ago, it's okay." He gulped and nodded and slowly backed out of the house never speaking again or looking away from my arm. He's a little squeamish!

Hmm, I know it's hard to see in the pic, but when I get cold it turns purple, and not a very pretty purple either!=)

Day 27~ A Physical Feature you Love

Now, like a few others days, I've seen this done two ways, a physical feature that you love on yourself, or a physical feature you like to look at on others.

I always notice peoples hair. Don't ask me why, I just do!

Sorry for the creepy picture, this is the best way I could find to get a picture of my eyes. I would smile, but my eyes squinch up and you can't see them as good!

Day 26~ A Childhood Memory

My earliest memory is from when I was about 3 years old. My Dad was digging post holes for a swing set and he was digging them deep enough that you couldn't see him when he got in them. I just remember seeing my Dad disappear into a deep dark hole and being extremely worried! Sorry for the lack of inspiration in todays post!

          I'll leave you a funny squirrel picture to make up for my lack of a decent post today!=)

Day 25~ A Recipe

Raspberry Cordial

Diana poured herself out a tumblerful, looked at its bright-red hue admiringly, and then sipped it daintily.

" That's awfully nice raspberry cordial, Anne," she said. "I didn't know raspberry cordial was so nice."

(Anne of Green Gables, Chapter 26)

Ingredients:

2 packages of frozen, unsweetened raspberries

1-1/4 cups sugar

4 cups boiling water

3 lemons

Directions:

1) Place raspberries into a large pot and add the sugar.

2) Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes, or until all the sugar has dissolved.

3) With a whisk or spoon, smash the raspberries thoroughly.

4) Pour the mixture through a strainer to extract the juice. Discard the remaining pulp.

5) Squeeze 2 of the lemons, and add the lemon juice to the raspberry juice.

6) Boil  the of water and add to the raspberry juice.

7) Let the raspberry cordial cool. Add thin slices of lemon to the cordial, and then chill it in the refrigerator.

8) Add more water to taste.

9) Serve and enjoy!

~Mix with homemade lemonade for an especially refreshing and yummy summer time treat! We have also done this with blackberries, yum!

Day 24~ A Movie no one Would Expect You to Love

I'm going to change it up a little and post a movie that everyone expects me to love and I hate! I like to wide a range of movies to truly surprise anyone with my likes.

I truly loathe Barbara Streisand! I love musicals, but for some reason this woman drives me insane and puts me to sleep all at the same time! This is the only one I've ever attempted to watch and I feel asleep in the first 15 minutes! :-P

Day 23~ A Way in Which you Want to be Remembered

I want to be remembered as someone who loved God and tried to honor and serve Him every moment, of every day of my life!

Now to be entirely frivolous, I want to be a famous author!

Day 22~ A Website

Sensibility

This website is almost solely responsible for my decent into blog-dom! It's a website with patterns designed Mrs. Chancey and they span the ages, all the way from Regency to a 1940's swing dress. There is also a forum where you can talk about vintage clothes, sewing, recipes, it's a place for people with a common interest to talk about what they love. Because somtimes the people around you get tired of listening to it!. I loved looking at the pics of others peoples project and it inspired me to start a blog to share my own projects and thoughts with the world! And aren't't you happy I did world?=)

Day 21~Something I do Differently Then Everybody Else

This one was hard, but not because I couldn't think of anything. It was the exact opposite problem, I couldn't decide which of my neurotic tendencies to put down in writing! So, I've have compiled a list of the five(not in any specific order) most often commented on things I do differently then most people!=)

~1~

I count my bites so I always end up chewing the last bite on the right side of my mouth.

~2~

If I like a movie or book I will watch/read it countless times, much to the annoyance of the others around me.

~3~

I will notice something about a person(like a missing tooth) and then ask others around me if they have seen so and so's missing tooth or am I crazy? This habit of mine of noticing things makes the people who know about it awfully nervous!

~4~

I will avoid talking on the phone if at ALL possible. No, let me rephrase that, I will answer the phone and receive calls just fine. I just break out into a cold sweat at the thought of making a call.

~5~

I have to throw this one in, the way I wear skirts and dresses a lot of the time. It is so hard to explain this one to peoples satisfaction, especially when they see me wear pants.

Hehe, this really has nothing to do with the subject of the post, but does relate to this last bit. I wore a pair of jeans during our Western VBS week and I was walking the kids outside when I heard someone come up behind me. This person then slap/grabbed my butt exclaiming, "You're wearing jeans! I didn't know you wore pants!" She then smiled and walked away. Needless to say that was the most unique reaction I've ever had to someone seeing me in pants for the first time!=)

   

Day 20~ A Hobby of Mine

I actually have a good one for today, not like the monkey yesterday. I got a request to have a picture of me peeling the banana with my toes. The logistics of this have been difficult to figure out, so it is a pending operation!

I love making jewelry and wearing it! So, between these two hobbies I'm a happy camper!=-)

I love the way these swing!

I made these after my Mom had me take apart a pair of earrings that she didn't like and put them back together again in a way she liked better. I got to keep the bits she didn't like.

These were the bits she didn't like, I love the swirly luminescence. It makes me think of moonlight!=)

These I made after taking multitudes of these butterflies off of a pair of flip-flops. They jingled real pretty like, but they kept getting caught on things, so off they came!

Gold hoops, pink, white and green rhinestones, what could be better?=)

This is a necklace, but as I have yet to find a clasp and it is fastened with a silver safety pin *blush* So, I did not take a picture of the upper regions! I like the bird just on one side but the comment I get most is, it would be cute if only the bird was on both sides, did the other one fall off? *sigh*

I love friendship bracelets, but thought I was getting a wee bit old for them. Then I saw some fancier ones on a blog that I follow and decided that as long as they were fancy that I was like, totally not too old! ;)

This is an anklet, I love the bubble like sheen on the center bead.

It's fancy because I don't just tie them on, see the button toggle closer in the back? That definitely makes it sophisticated, right?

Yes, another one! This ones a bracelet like the first one though.

I saw this idea some where but I recall the piece being at least $35 so I didn't buy it. It's basically a really long piece of braided leather like cord (only the best for me!) I braided a super long length and just wrap it around my wrist, ankle, around my neck, the possibilities are endless. Well, maybe not endless.....but there are at least a couple more I think.....=)

Day 19~ A Talent of Mine

I have soooo, many awesome and wonderful talents (is the sarcasm coming through here? It's hard to convey through print sometimes!) But I have a talent that by far outshines all others that I have come up against,

drum roll please!

Like my monkey friend here, I can peel a banana with my toes!

Day Eighteen~ A Time When You Felt Passionate and Alive

Maybe I'm just weird (that most definitely might be the case!) but I feel passionate and full of life allot of the time. There are times when, as Anne says, a thrill goes up my spine, like when I'm standing on the beach, reading a particularly good bit in a book, beautiful things, accomplishing something that I had always wanted to do but never managed to before right then for some reason or another.(Like getting my license and finally finishing my first book!)

But, for the most part, I'm always passionate about what I'm doing or seeing, that's probably why I'm such a messy cook, I get distracted by the art of it and forget about mundane things like paying attention the where that spoonful of batter just ended up!=)

At the drop of a hat I can go from normal to heroine in a book excited, sad, happy, angry, hmm, I sound like a joy to be around don't I? I'm shy so most people don't see this side of me, but when they see the loud talks with her hands, yelling, overly dramatic, sarcastic me I'm never sure how long they'll stick around.

So, all of that to say, the most recent time I felt passionate and alive was when I finally heard from someone who I think has been ignoring me, for some unfathomable reason!(the emotion is extreme annoyance by the way, if you are reading this!) While the question was answered the annoyance is still flaring. So, you know who you are and if you make it this far, I'm pretty annoyed with you right now! What on earth did I do to warrant this behavior?

Day Seventeen~ A Piece of Art

Mmm, if this isn't a work of art I don't know what is.....hehe

No, really, this is the piece I thought of for today. I love Monet, the colors and techniques he uses just draw me in and capture my imagination. This piece is one of my favorites, she looks so wistful. I love to imagine what she's looking back at, is it a old flame? Maybe she was visiting the grave of someone close to her. I've come up with a million different scenarios!=)

Day Sixteen~ A Song That Makes You Cry

I don't cry at many songs, but for some reason this one always brings tears to my eyes!



It's not really the song that makes me cry, it's the video. The whole they both killed themselves and still ended up together idea is filled with holes, like suicide is a ticket to Hell, but my hopelessly romantic side persists in thinking differently! You have to hang in till the end, please!!!

Day Fifteen~ A Person You Admire

~My Friends!~

I've never had a group of girl friends before and the support system there is amazing! Through weddings, broken hearts, family problems, and just plain ol' boredom they are always there with a shoulder to cry on and advice. Full of fun and faith, I'm not sure what I would do without them. I love you guys!=)

Day Fourteen~A Vacation You Would Like to Take

~Ireland~

Hands down, if I could pick one place in the world to visit, then be stuck in Oregon for the rest of my life, Ireland is where I would go. Do not ask me where this obsession came from, but I've been obsessed with this country since I was 11.

 

~Disney Land~

A much more realistic pick, don't you think? I would love the experience the happiest place on earth, as weird as it may seem, with no kids along for the ride. Don't get me wrong, I love kids and that's what I want to do with my life, get married and a have a family. But, now that I'm a grown up, I would like to return to a state of child like bliss and wouldn't be able to do that if I had to be responsible for someone besides myself!=)

I love this song, if whom ever I marry agrees I want this one played as I walk down the isle.=)

Day Eleven~ A Photo of You Taken Recently

We have Ladies Dinner and Movie nights at our church. We were showing "The Princess Bride", but did anyone besides, my family dress up?? Nope!! The hat doesn't really go with the theme of the dress, but it matched sooo well, gotta love church costume rooms!
